The other day, I had lunch at Kintoki shokudo in Motomachi area of Kobe. In this kind of good old “shokudo”(casual restaurant), you can order set meals, and you can also take what you want from a wide variety of small dishes at the counter.

About half of the customers are just having lunch, while the other half are enjoying alcohol with the dishes. I ordered a set meal of Nikudofu. This is a dish of tofu and beef in sugar and soy source based soup. It tastes just like Sukiyaki.

This is what I picked up at the counter, a dish of octopus, eggplant, and white radish and a dish of Shirasu daikon(young fish and grated white radish). Next time I’d like to take more small dishes with a glass of beer.
